                           On naval medal roll there is a mercantile marine reserve man - greaser,
                           Fredk Ascroft ship "Sokoto" died 1923, with code Ww - widow so medal issued to her.
                           On 1911 census Julia Ashcroft mother (widow, age 70),
                           and son Frederick (married, age 26, a fireman not greaser)
                           living at 41 Gamble Road, Kingston Cross, Portsmouth.
                           Probably married April/May/June 1906 at Portsmouth.
